James Patterson’s newest, I, Alex Cross, is his usual fare. That’s not to say it isn’t good, but nothing out of the ordinary for him. Alex is investigating the murder of his estranged niece Caroline while dealing with Nana’s health problems which have landed her in the hospital with an unsure diagnosis.
Finding out what happened to Caroline, who died in a particularly gruesome manner, drags him into a deeper investigation involving some of the heavy hitters of Washington, D.C. Cross’ relationship with Bree is going strong, while Jannie and Ali are as sweet and innocent as usual with son Damon, off at school. I won’t give away the ending, but it does offer promise for some new storylines in the personal life arena.
Fans of Alex Cross with devour this one in one sitting, while those new to the series will probably not develop a deep connection.
